The first Saturday of March 2026 mobilized more than 20 neighborhoods in Curitiba with the Suburbana Serie A and B matches. There were 12 games spread around the city: while the elite of the competition reached the second round, Serie B kicked off the season. In total, 40 goals were scored across the two divisions.

Second round of the Suburbana maintains balance and a good average of goals

With two rounds played, parity seems to be the hallmark of this edition of the Suburbana. Only four teams have won so far, and three of them still have a 100% record: Capão Raso, Operário Pilarzinho, and Trieste, who are a step ahead of the other teams in the race for qualification. The number of goals also stands out, maintaining the average of three goals per game recorded in the opening round. Read here.

With just one draw, the hosts came out on top in the Serie B opening round

In the six matchups of the opening round of the 2026 Suburbana Serie B, held last Saturday (7), only two hosts did not win, namely Renovicente and Bangu. The only visiting team to triumph was Bairro Alto. Another highlight of the round was the number of goals scored, with an average of just over three per game. In total, 22 goals were scored. With a goal in the first minute, two red cards and six goals, Santa Quitéria and Tanguá draw in the second round

With a lightning goal in the first minute, Santa Quitéria started better and went two goals ahead. However, Tanguá responded and equalized before halftime. The second half was marked by two red cards for Quitéria who, even at a numerical disadvantage, managed to go back in front. From the penalty spot, Tanguá scored again to seal a 3-3 draw at Maurício Fruet Stadium. Read here.

From the bench to comeback hero: Lucas Rippel celebrates a sparkling debut for Bairro Alto

Even starting on the bench, Lucas Rippel, “Lukinhas,” was one of the standout figures in Bairro Alto’s 3 to 1 win over Renovicente. The No. 20 came on in the second half and changed the course of the match at Solar do Bosque, scoring one of the goals in the visitors’ lightning comeback. See the interview here.
